You can also head straight out into nature right from the park and explore the surroundings with your furry friend. At EuroParcs Biggesee, dogs are welcome in select accommodations. Dogs must be kept on a leash throughout the park, and poop bags are provided. This ensures a pleasant stay for dogs, their owners, and other guests.

Walks and Hikes with Your Dog Around the Biggesee

All around EuroParcs Biggesee, there are plenty of trails through the woods and along the shores of the Biggesee waiting for you and your dog. You can set out on nature walks right from the park and discover the Sauerland countryside.

    Biggesee Circular Trail from Attendorn

    The relaxed, approximately 5.6 km circular hike along the Biggesee dam, starting in Attendorn, takes just under an hour and a half and offers easily accessible paths for all fitness levels. Conveniently, this easy tour starts directly at a parking lot and near the park.

    Northern Shore of the Biggesee

    The approximately 3.9 km long, easy route leads along the northern shore of the Biggesee and is well suited for a relaxed walk with your dog. The route takes about 1 hour and has around 40 meters of elevation gain.

Places to Visit & Activities for Your Vacation with Your Dog in the Sauerland

Even off the hiking trails, there’s plenty to discover around EuroParcs Biggesee. A trip to Waldenburger Bucht is a great way to enjoy nature and the view of Lake Biggesee with your dog. From there, you can also visit the BiggeBlick and enjoy the view over the lake and the Sauerland.  A boat ride on Lake Biggesee is also possible with your dog and offers a unique perspective on the landscape. For a varied day trip, it’s also worth visiting the nearby town of Attendorn, where you can explore the town and its surroundings with your dog.

No, dogs are not allowed to swim in the Biggesee. However, during your vacation in the Sauerland with your dog, the region still offers plenty of opportunities for walks and hikes together in nature. There are many dog-friendly destinations and activities around EuroParcs Biggesee.

Can my dog come along on a boat ride on Lake Biggesee?

Yes, dogs are allowed on board Biggesee passenger ferries, but they must have a ticket and must remain on a leash during the trip.
